“Less is more” that is the starting point of Micro Mega Wines, an initiative within Vinitaly dedicated to small, refined wine productions from Italy. The project, set up by none other than Ian D’Agata, aims to give even the smallest winemakers a platform. Each estate in this selection works with unique grape varieties and terroirs, producing wines that each tell a story. No mass production, but character. No trends, but quality.
April 7, 2025 was a very important and wonderful day in the short history of Vino Celeste.
I was honored as ambassador of Micro Mega Wines at Vinitaly, by none other than Ian D’Agata, without a doubt the world’s best Italian wine expert.
Micro Mega Wines is a project that Ian D’Agata started in 2019 in collaboration with Vinitaly, with one clear mission: to give small producers who produce unique wines (micro) with high quality (Mega) a place on Italy’s largest wine stage.
Our goal is clear: to introduce Belgian wine lovers, restaurants and sommeliers to the other Italy far beyond the prestigious (and often expensive) names from Piedmont and Tuscany. Because those who truly want to discover look beyond the classics.
These wines are also presented during our two-day tasting on May 24 and 25 in Neerijse.
