The red vineyards are pergolas, over a hundred years old, pre-phylloxera, and ungrafted: a true spectacle! Tramonti and the places Gete, located in one of the beautiful internal valleys of the Lattari mountains, known as the green heart of the Amalfi coast, are surrounded by about 145 hectares of forest.
Owners
The family has an old history and deep roots in the area, carries out the work as it was in the past, and strengthens the family tradition that is passed down from generation to generation. Luigi Reale started making wine from the grapes of the historic vineyards in 2000. He receives advice and collaborates extensively with the highly renowned oenologist Fortunato Sebastiano, with whom he has built a symbiotic relationship that still exists.
Vineyards
Indigenous, non-grafted vines, grown a few kilometers from the sea, in the beautiful landscape of the charming village of Gete, have found their natural habitat here and benefit from a mild climate all year round.
"In their vineyards, true wonders of nature have been preserved. Hundred-year-old indigenous vines form the basis of the wines. The vineyards consist solely of clay soil and date back to 1929 (Casa De Rosa) and 1920 (Vigna Diana). The subsoil means that we are dealing with very structured wines that can age for a long time with concentrated flavors."
There are only about 1100 plants per hectare, whereas nowadays between four and six thousand is normal; consequently, the yields are extremely low.
Of the red wines Borgo di Gete -most Cardamom 'only 1500 and 5500 bottles are made respectively. Only indigenous yeasts are used and there is an organic certificate available.'
