People often ask me this question. I have always been in love with Italy, since I was a child. The amazing trips to the Venetian coast, my interest in Roman history, the hospitable and warm mentality of the local people, the delicious food, the rich culture—it's all there. For me, it was not difficult to make the switch from the traditional choice of starting with French wines to Italian wines. The more I discovered and learned, the greater my passion for Italian wines became.
What makes Italian wines so different? The richness and diversity of flavors, combined with the fact that Italy has the largest number of diverse grape varieties from which wine is made. Did you know that there are more than 500 indigenous grape varieties, each with its own unique flavor profile?
"This ensures that it remains an engaging country where the quality of wines in all regions continues to improve. Witness our webshop, where we consciously chose not to focus on the traditional Italian wine regions, but rather placed emphasis on: UNICA, DIVERSA, QUALITA (unique, diverse, linked to top quality), regardless of the region in which the wines are produced."
