Arvesiniadu Livànti Island of the Nuraghi - Celestial Wine
Producer: Bentu
Bentu is a project that focuses on producing wine with a unique quality and character, made from some of the most valuable indigenous grape varieties of the island, such as Bovale, Cagnulari, and Arvesiniadu. The yields are low, with only 1,500 bottles of each wine, but at Bentu, only the best is good enough.
Uniqueness of Arvesiniadu:
This wine is already unique due to the fact that only 8 producers in all of Italy make wines with this grape.
What the experts say:
Ian D'Agata:
"Nothing more to add really, except that these two young guys at Bentu strike me as being quite the talented pair. I look forward to following their wines in the years to come. And speaking, writing, frankly, you probably should too."
Terroir Sense:
"Pale straw-yellow with some green-gold tinges. Delicately scented on the nose, with aromas of acacia honey, yellow apple, pear and thyme with a savoury undertone. Then smooth and well-balanced, with ripe yellow fruit and marine nuances of sea breeze and coastal bittersweet herbs lingering nicely on the saline, well-rounded and long finish."
Our experience:
We can fully endorse it: this wine is a top choice at (still) affordable prices. Delicately perfumed on the nose, with aromas of acacia honey, yellow apple, pear, and thyme. On the palate, the wine starts very fruity but ends with a lot of minerality and freshness.
