Producer: Agricultural Company Reale
Region: Costa D' Amalfi - Tramonti - Lattari Mountains
Variety: 100% Tintore di Tramonti
Year: 2017
Vinification: Temperature controlled fermentation in steel tanks for 15 days. Aging in barriques for 18 months.
Colour:Fully saturated purple ruby: very dyeing or tinting color!
Fragrance: A first whiff of alcohol wafts away, leaving intense aromas of blackberries, dark red cherries, balsamic oil, sweet spices, and herbs on the inviting nose.
Taste: Fresh, juicy and precise, with ripe, dense flavors of dark fruit and spices, complicated by a hint of pure chocolate. The finish is long and vibrant. This is one big but refined wine that calls for steaks and rich game dishes or stews. More importantly: it is also a knockout. 100% Tintore di Tramonti picked from extremely old vines planted in 1920 (the Casa de Rosa vineyard) and 1929 (the Vigna Diana).
Dish combinations:
- Various red meat and game dishes: bistecca fiorentina, venison with a berry red wine sauce, tagliatelle with wild boar ragu.
Serving temperature:18 C° - decant at least 2 hours in advance!
Shelf life:until 2038
Anecdote: This is a gem that perfectly matches the DNA of Vino Celeste: limited quantities but very high quality. The Tintore grape is only cultivated by a few producers to make red wines. Luigi knows better than anyone how to handle the Tintore grape to create a top wine. He only produces it in exceptionally good years. This wine is already drinkable but can easily age for another 15 years. A standout that can easily compete with the best from Tuscany and Piemonte. Only 1500 bottles worldwide, so we are proud to have secured a number of bottles. Not to be missed!
