Vinification: Temperature-controlled fermentation in steel tanks for 10 days. Maturation in steel tanks and medium-sized barrels for 10 months.
Color: Rruby red
Fragrance: Very pure yet youthful imploded aromas of red cherry, blackberries, bitter chocolate, violets, minerals, and licorice.
Taste: Rich and dense but tightly wound, with a beautiful primary red fruit character, still youthful and firm with a noble tannin backbone. Another knockout red from Reale, this is made with a mix of Piedirosso (locally known as Per ‘è Palummo) and Tintore di Tramonti. The extremely old vines were planted in 1920 (the Casa de Rosa vineyard) and 1929 (the Vigna Diana).
Dish combinations:
- Pasta dishes with a rich meat sauce, but also tuna steaks with caponata are a perfect match.
