Taste: D"Deep and soft, with a very lively, elevated personality and persistent flavors of red cherry, candied violet, and hints of sweet spices. You can see that this truly beautiful red wine is made with whole clusters. It aged for a year in Allier oak and new chestnut barrels. This is probably, unless my memory is failing me now, the best Esmen Tetra ever made. There is a lot of wine for the money here, and it would be the top wine at many wineries, while it plays second fiddle here to the Eleuteria. This is a blend of 80% Nerello Mascalese and 20% Nerello Cappuccio that has aged for a year in used barriques. About 30% whole clusters were used."
Dish combinations:
- Various dishes with grilled meat or game. Especially preparations with lamb are a very good match.

For those who thought that wines made with the Nerello Mascalese grape were only produced in Sicily! This is a standout, differing so much from its counterpart in Sicily that the wines from Calabria are much fruitier.
