Waarom niemand spreekt over Campanië, maar iedereen het zou moeten proeven.

Why no one talks about Campania, but everyone should taste it.

Wine Report Campania 2025

We watched this report by none other than Ian D’Agata with keen interest – Ian D’Agata Wine Review: Campania’s New and Recent Releases: Some of Italy’s Potentially Most Interesting, Best Wines – iandagatawine.

What we already knew is confirmed once again: Campania has enormous potential, and the future looks promising. In short, you can expect many new things from Campania from us.

Below we provide a brief summary with scores of wines that we already distribute.

Why Campania?

"Campania is undoubtedly a great place in which to make wine: and while some of the region’s wines are very famous, others are not known at all. Which is a real pity, because when it comes to wine, you might as well consider Campania a wine-treasure chest of sorts..."

Campania, with its more than 25,000 hectares of vineyards, is a true wine treasure trove. Whereas the region was once mainly praised for its white wines (such as Fiano, Greco and Falanghina), today there is also much attention and quality for red wines.

With local grapes such as Piedirosso, Caprettone and Tintore di Tramonti, Campania puts itself on the map with unique single-varietal wines of top quality.

Scores from our producers

Bambinuto

2022 Greco di Tufo Riserva Picoli – 92/100
Aromatic, tropical fruit, peach, caramel, wild herbs. A big, broad wine with a long finish.
Drinking: 2026–2030

"Good full bright straw yellow. Aromas and flavours of tropical fruit, ripe peach, caramel, and wild herbs. In a very typical Greco di Tufo style, this is big, broad and tactile, a huge wine that finishes long with hints of caramel and tropical fruit."

Contrada Salandra

2021 Falanghina Campi Flegrei – 92/100
Round, fresh, nuanced and a benchmark for Falanghina.
Drink: 2025–2027

"Good medium straw-green. At once big, round and tactile but also fresh and very nuanced, this benchmark Falanghina is a little bigger than usual in 2021 but still delivers one of the better, truest-to-type Falanghina drinking experiences around."

2021 Piedirosso Campi Flegrei – 91/100
Light-footed, with acidity, red fruit, coffee and spiciness.
Drink: 2026–2029

"Bright medium red-ruby. Light on its feet, this is very dominated by sour red fruit, coffee and herb notes."

Contrade di Taurasi

2019 Grecomusc’ Anfora Campania Bianco – 92/100
Spicy and peachy with floral accents.
Drink: 2025–2028

"Deep yellow. Very herbal and peachy on the expressive nose. Then big and broad, with intense herbal and floral flavours. Finishes savoury and solid, if not especially fruity."

2018 Taurasi Vigne d’Alto – 94/100
Deep, powerful, fresh, with lots of structure and red fruit.
Drink: 2026–2031

"Good full ruby-red. Much bigger and denser than the Coste, this boasts spicy-gingery red fruit, ink and graphite aromas and flavours. There’s lots going on here, a really beautiful clean, fresh and pretty Aglianico wine. The 60–100 years old vines are located in the area of Casa d’Alto in the territory of the Taurasi Commune at about 400 meters asl."

Conclusion
Campania surprises again with a combination of authenticity, elegance, and exceptional value for money. This region is far from being fully discovered and we will continue to surprise you with the finest wines from this area.
